NSCALE attended the Mason County Board of Education meeting on 8/25/2026, to affirm their desire to continuously support our community & reinforced their commitment by presenting the Superintendent with funds specifically designated to support STEM education within the county.  When students grow, all of our communities grow.  Superintendent Farmer and the Board would like to express sincere appreciation for this investment in the students of Mason County.

Ready to Serve! 🍎👩‍🍳 Training complete, sleeves rolled up, and our cooks are ready to serve up another great school year! ❤️ A special congratulations to the cooks at Point Pleasant Jr./Sr. High — our official “Ladle Legends” for the year! 🥄🏆 They’ll be proudly holding the trophy until another school comes ready to claim the title! A huge thank-you to Steve Richardson for crafting the awesome trophy and giving us one more reason to have a little friendly competition! We’re also incredibly grateful to Sharon Maynard and Jennifer Tagliarino with the American Dairy Association, and Mary Cook and Morgan Teeters with the West Virginia Department of Education, for sharing their expertise with our staff. And most importantly, thank you to our amazing cooks and Connie Hill for being willing to learn, try new things, and make this training a success! Bus transportation for students affected by the bridge closure in Leon area---- Bus 2095 will be transporting students affected by the bridge closure near the Leon area. The bus will be taking students to Roosevelt Elementary and Point Pleasant Jr./Sr. High. These times are approximate. Please be watching for the bus at least five minutes early : Bus will make first stop near Hidden Haven Farm around 7:00 AM. It will then arrive near the Rockcastle area around 7:10 AM. Kanawha Campground area around 7:15 and then start on Leon Baden around 7:22 to head to Roosevelt Elementary and then PPHS. The bus will drop in the afternoon around 3:40 on Charleston Rd and continue dropping along Charleston Rd, Rockcastle, Quest Ln and then make the last drop by Hidden Haven Farm. This bus will service the students who normally ride buses 154, 131, & 184 who are affected by the bridge closure. Again, the times are approximate. Please be watching for the bus at least five minutes before the listed times. School Bus Safety
If you are looking for information about the new school year & a good read, head over to the commercial building and visit our free book giveaway at the Mason County Fair this week! We will be there today and tomorrow. Today we have Ashton Elementary at the booth from 10-2 with Beale stepping in from 2-6. Reading a good book is a GREAT way to wait out the passing rains!

We also have a table set up today with other community partners during the Midway to Wellness event at the fair!

We can't wait to see you there!

Mason County Schools will be having a final in person Preschool Registration Friday, July 31, 2026, from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Mason County Board of Education. This is for any school in the county. Please bring your preschool aged child, a certified birth certificate, and updated shot records.

Mason County Schools is proud to offer FREE 7-Day Meal Boxes through the USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)!
Each meal box contains enough food to provide one breakfast and one lunch per day for seven days for eligible children.

WV Impact+ is a school based coaching framework aligned to the Student Success Act. Research has shown that teachers are far more likely to implement new instructional strategies when professional learning is paired with coaching support.
